M&I Bakery is a London-based bakery specializing in bespoke cakes and pastries, delivering across London and its surrounding areas. It is a family-run business that reached out to me, seeking guidance on where to begin, as they currently lack branding, a website, and social media accounts.

Branding, Logo & Visual Identity

Establishing memorable branding & logo created from scratch that resonates with the target audience.

Logo Design is featuring the initials of the two main bakers M&I - Mariela and Ivo. Colour palette is a combination of soft pastels (pink, purple, mint & cream) that evoke warmth and indulgence and also resonates with the nature of the business. A blend of playful and modern fonts to strike a balance between tradition and contemporary appeal.

E-commerce Website Design & Development

Bespoke design & build from scratch a seamless, visually appealing, and intuitive website customer orders.

Platform Selection - Opted for WordPress due to its user-friendly interface, robust features, and scalability, allowing M&I Bakery to grow alongside evolving business needs.

Website Design - A captivating hero banners with videos or images, showcasing the bakery’s signature items. Featured sections highlight bestsellers, seasonal treats, and customer testimonials.

Navigation - Simple and intuitive menu layout to facilitate easy browsing through categories (cupcakes, cakes, ready to order options and enquiries for bespoke cakes).

Mobile Responsiveness - Ensured that the website is responsive across all different devices for shoppers on-the-go.

Features Implemented on the Website
1. Customisable Product Options - We have introduced customisable product options to allow customers to personalise their orders. This feature includes choices of flavours, sizes, colours, and dietary requirements, ensuring that each customer can tailor their selection to meet their specific preferences. 2. Delivery Date Calendar - Our user-friendly calendar enables customers to select their preferred delivery dates for cake orders. The calendar clearly indicates unavailable dates, facilitating easy planning. Additionally, it is programmed such that if an order is placed after 12 PM, next-day delivery will not be available. This policy is in place to ensure the freshest quality for our products.
These features collectively enhance user experience by offering both personalisation and convenience, illustrating M&I Bakery's commitment to customer satisfaction and quality service.

Digital Marketing

I provided services for the business by establishing and managing an Instagram account.

This included designing custom icons for highlight sections, which feature flavours, the menu, and customer feedback. Additionally, I created distinctive giant square posts that significantly contributed to attracting the account's initial followers. These posts showcased visually appealing images of baked goods, behind-the-scenes baking processes, and customer spotlights. The implementation of custom-made icons for the highlights, along with the use of impactful grid posts, was aimed at maximizing the first impression of the account.
As a result of these efforts, the account has achieved an impressive following of over 108,000 followers.
